We have some groups coming up that we are super excited about. We thought it would be good to have some skill-share/ info sessions for participants. Come check these out:
HOLISTIC SELF PRACTICE
February 24th from 3-5pm
In this workshop Vadan and Ray will lead a discussion about how to reduce stress in your life with Chinese medicine techniques and holistic health practices. Then we will learn some Yoga and Qigong exercises to learn how to work with the energy in our bodies.
March 3rd from 3-5pm
Brian Schultz will talk about recreational pharmaceutical use in SF, and how their use blurs the lines between “treatment” and “recreation” for many people. Using pills also comes with a unique set of safety concerns for both drug users and those who work with drug users.
Come learn AND SHARE INFORMATION about:
*different classes of pills and their effects
*using pills and other pharmaceuticals safely
*overdose and pharmaceuticals
*what’s on the streets (here about OP’s: NEW oxycotin!)
*buying pills: safety and responsibility (including IDing pills, understanding dosages and being nice to dealers)
KNOW YOUR SRO RIGHTS
March 10th from 5-7pm
Joseles de la Cruz from Justa Causa will come give us an overview of tenant rights in our cities single-resident occupancy hotels. He will tell us the history of advocacy for better housing conditions and where we are at today. This workshops will be a great resource for people wanting to know the ins and outs of SRO’s and how to best negotiate the system.
