To prepare for the Dec 17th/International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers vigil, procession, and memorial, on Tuesday, Dec 16th, from 6:30 to 8pm, St. James Infirmary will be open for us to make signs for the candlelight vigil and procession. Please join us. (More info on the history of December 17th and other events around the world here.)
On Dec 17th, at 5pm at 850 Bryant St. (aka the Hall of Justice), we’ll gather for a community vigil. We will then process with candles & red umbrellas to the Center for Sex and Culture for a Memorial for sex workers we have lost to violence, organized by Annie Sprinkle. A text blurb you can share widely about these events is after the cut.
Many San Francisco folks will be in Washington DC for the National March for Sex Workers’ Rights — it’s more important than ever, especially with Prop K and in solidarity with those who’ve gone to DC, that we come out & show the San Francisco community that sex workers demand an end to violence against us.
Please come out (and bring a friend or three) for the sign-making if you can, and bring names of sex workers to add to our community memorial. We have lost too many, and we should never again.
Thank you so much for spreading the word!
